Well, Hello There, ICLW

Hello fair ICLWers and ALI bloggers,

This is literally the first time in two years I've participated in ICLW, mostly because (enter excuses) life has gotten the best of me. Life lately has included my ever-rambunctious toddler (my IVF babe) and Mr. S (who is in the hospital currently. Though stable, he has unexplained GI symptoms and severe weight loss that they can't figure out). We have quite a few other things on our plate, but these two are the highlights (um, one of them being a lowlight) most recently.

While my IF 'resume' can be seen on the sidebar down below, I'll give you a brief history. Mr. S and I tried for two years to conceive before seeking out medical advice when we were diagnosed with male factor infertility (low count, motility). After three more years of treatment, including clomid, 7 IUIs, and a miscarriage, we finally went the IVF/ICSI route and found ourselves immensely fortunate to have our son in November of 2009 (17 months).  We still have two frozen embryos, but time is running out.  We are now facing elevated FSH and have been told that if we want a #2, we better move quick, but in the wake of the financial ramifications of TTC #1 and now Mr. S' health issues, our family building future is uncertain.

Thanks for stopping by!

Dearest Shelby! It's nice to hear your voice here again! I am sending you and your beautiful fam my best. I hope Mr. S' issues can be figured out ASAP and he will feel good and healthy soon. I tremendously enjoy your Little G related posts and pictures on FB, btw. Lots of love to you all.

It's good to see you posting, Miss Shelby. I hope the Mr. is feeling better soon. Having all sorts of GI issues that can't be explained myself so curious to hear what they find out for him. I'm likely looking at more surgery in the fall, but holding out hope that it will all just go away by then...I do still have hope! (-;

Sorry that things are on hold a bit and hoping you are well on your way for a sibling for Little G soon. 2 frozen embabies sounds like a really good start!

I've been meaning to stop by and ask about Vegas.. I trust that you had a fantastic time! I also thought that you'd love to hear that while you were dancing on a table, I was getting knocked up! Yep, our IVF transfer that was the weekend of FIF was successful and I am now entering my 7th week.

I'll send you and your love come strong healing thoughts as you navigate these additional bumps on the road.

xoxo - Foxy

Hi Shelby - Stopping by from ICLW. I hope things start to pick up for you. I know exaclty how you feel with the pressures of IF and needing to act quickly but having finances get in the way. It is very unfortunate to not be able to build our families the "good ole fashioned way" but I like to think that this makes us better parents in the long run. I hope this work out for you with your FET.
