ICLW

Hello ICLWers!

It's been awhile since I've participated, but I'm glad to have enough time this week to join in. Here's the skinny (or not-so-skinny nowadays) on my journey thus far:

I'm a 31-year-old chica from the Bay Area who had been trying to conceive baby #1 with my hubby of 9 years for almost 5 years. After 1 round of clomid/timed intercourse, 7 IUIs, 1 miscarriage, and I IVF/ICSI, we are now 23 weeks pregnant with our little guy, Baby G. Not surprisingly, I want nothing more in the world than to bring him home safe and sound in November and much of my current blog surrounds this.

My hubby, Mr. S, (also known as my 'hot piece of ass') also blogs. You can find his male perspective musings here. In the mean time, sit back, relax and read up, if you so wish!

Hooray for not-so-skinny!

I wonder what my husband would do if I called him a 'hot piece of ass,' since that's a phrase that's never come up. We talk often about his butt, since he's little in the middle but he's got much back. Right now, I'm the exact opposite! Between my belly and his butt, it is now impossible for me to squeeze by him in a narrow space.

Happy ICLW!

I love that you are quoting Sir Mix-a-Lot to describe your husband's body. Ha! I can't quite say I'm the opposite...I'm big both places!

Did the RE ever diagnose your problem conceiving?

We were initially diagnosed as both male and female factor (low count/motility and low progesterone). Later, after I lost a significant amount of weight, my levels all came back normal and we were diagnosed with just male factor, but I've always suspected that I might have a luteal phase defect. So, in short, I would say we're a combo team of infertility.

Yeah for 23 weeks! Time is flying.

I love your husband's blog- I enjoyed reading his perspective. I wish my hubby (E) would blog about his journey.

Stopping by for an ICLW visit...

Here from ICLW. Your story makes me hopeful... we've had 5 medicated cycles, 4 with IUI and one IVF that ended technically as a chemical pregnancy. IVF #2 is up in a few weeks... :)

Congrats on your pregnancy!
