The IF Roller Coaster

  • 5/96: Met Mr. S on a blind date in high school!
  • 6/00: Married Mr. S! Best day of my life thus far.
  • 6/04: Off BC. Let's have us some babies!
  • 5/05: Start charting.
  • 5/06: Um, something's wrong here. Clomid from OBGYN. BFN.
  • 7/06: First RE. diagnosed with male factor IF (low motility and count). Also, some possible female issues as well (low progesterone, elevated E2)
  • 7/06: IUI #1. BFN.
  • 8/06-6/07: Took 'break' after move out of state and change in insurance.
  • 8/07: HSG, normal. Bloodwork, normal.
  • 10/07: IUI #2. BFN.
  • 1/08: IUI #3. BFN
  • 4/08: 4th and final IUI. Book appointment for IVF only to discover BFP 2 weeks later.
  • 6/08: Lost our little bean at 10 1/2 weeks.
  • 8/08: FSH, E2, and Saline U/S normal. Male genetic testing (extended CF, Fragile X and karyotype) normal.
  • 10/08: IUI #5, Menopur. BFN.
  • 11/08: IUI #6, clomid and one shot Menopur. Missed ovulation...another BFN.
  • 12/08: Final IUI #7, Menopur. BFN.
  • 2/09: IVF/ICSI #1, transferred 2 embies: BFP with one little bean! 2 frozen snow babies!
  • 11/09: IVF/ICSI baby born healthy and happy!
  • 9/12: FET transfer of two embies
  • 9/12-10/12: BFP, but ultrasound shows empty sack at 6 weeks. D&C follows. Second miscarriage.
  • 10/12: Adoption info session. Exploring our options...
  • 11/12: Meet with RE who talks us into one more try with IVF
  • 2/13: Dragging my feeeeet...
  • 3/13: Surprise! Diagnosed as having diminished ovarian reserve. Exploring Donor Eggs (except we're too poor for this right now! Ugh...)

10 Non-IF Things!

  • Married to a triplet, who was a Clomid baby! (Things seem to come full circle)
  • I move...a lot. I'm trying to get this under control, but as much as I hate to look at another box, I love exploring new places.
  • I love to write fiction and poetry and have been agonizing over the same novel for years now.
  • I lost over 90 pounds over a 2 years ago bringing me to my 'goal' weight. I've since gained A LOT back, but hope to get on the wagon again!
  • I live in the San Francisco Bay Area.
  • I have been married to the hub for 13 years, together for 17. We met in high school.
  • I have 2 cats and 1 dog. I would have more if my sanity allowed it.
  • I am an only child.
  • I am a school psychologist.
  • I am a first generation high school and college graduate in my family.
